Aruwyn

Aruwyn is a city in the Erevos Islands founded by the Empire of Eleyha as a staging point for campaigns into central Thovan. Even after the Eleyhans retreated from Thovan, they retained control of Aruwyn. After the collapse of the empire, the city's elven rulers were deposed and replaced by a new human ruling class. Since then, the city has remained fairly stable due to its fishing industry, glassware, and trade.
The city has a large Pantheon with Erue as its centerpoint (a legacy of its Neruaan past). Trade has brought Haborian missionaries as well, and the faith has become quite popular in the city.
The locals continue to speak Neruaan.

Industry & Trade

Maritime trade has traditionally been the city's lifeblood. Fur from the north, fey iron from Neuvir, lumber from Erkastr all make their way across the sea by means of Aruwyn's harbor. Furthermore, the city has retained its knowledge of glass blowing, and glassware from its workshops is shipped far and wide. Aruwyn has a robust fishing industry as well, and a substantial segment of the populace is involved in the trade.

Architecture

As a former Eleyhan city, Aruwyn is laid out as a series of circles covered in a dendritic system of tree lined streets weaving through multistory, flat-roofed tenements. Parks and gardens are scattered throughout the city. Enchanted lamps illuminate the streets at night.

Geography

The main part of the city is located on Kroja Island. The old-town, where the original keep still stands, is located on the smaller Vosari Island. Ajboru Island is home to various farming hamlets. Numerous refugees have formed an encampment on the mainland. These refugees cross the Sunset Bridge to Kroja Island everyday looking for work as day-laborers.
