Kuza

Kuza is the capital of the Kingdom of Nafa. It is one of the oldest cities in the world, having been continuously inhabited since early in the Age of Law (making it comparable in age to Akai, Edde'an, and The Burning Citadel).   Being a mountain city, Kuza is laid out over five large terraces with the royal palace, Nazbaiya, located on the highest step. The headwaters of the Meşikin river flow through the city, cascading over the terraces in five sequential waterfalls. The streets are all paved in smooth, even stones and lined with gutters that feed into storm drains. Flowering trellises arc over the streets, and multistory tenements crowd together, providing housing for the city's population of 80,000. Countless brightly painted plazas dot the city, each with an ancient carved stela at its center. These plazas are full of street stalls and busy shoppers buying everything from produce to clothing.    The city's signature meal is Tef: a spicy okra stew eaten with flatbread.
