The Moonling

The Midwife, The Moonling, The Child in the Moon

Divine Domains

The Moonling presides over the mentally ill and the darkness of the night. In addition, they use their strength to protect the voids between the stars and the spheres of the night sky, defending the inhabitants of Korthos from dangerous aberrations and monstrous intelligences that could threaten the planet.
A Cleric worshiping The Moonling may select from the following domains: Good, Madness, Void, Darkness, or Community.

Holy Books & Codes

The Midwife's Gospels are a set of books that the Moonling, supposedly, dictated to one of their chosen in centuries past. The volumes contain information about the Moonling's past and their family, and also contain (consistently updated) information on how to treat mental illnesses, how to assist in delivery of children, and how to banish the accursed and monstrous aberrations from Korthos. This information is updated as time passes, edited by the Moonling's clergy in order to stay updated both on mundane and magical means of treatment and midwifery.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The Moonling's symbol is that of a silver moon sitting on a purple void, often embroidered on dark blue or purple velvet robes by her favored clergy.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

The Moonling's goals consist of protecting mothers in childbirth as well as those suffering from afflictions of the mind. They are prayed to to keep pain and illness from a pregnant person, as well as to keep women from dying in childbirth. They are additionally prayed to to protect the mentally ill and the insane, easing their suffering and protecting them from unfair persecution if they cannot be healed.
They view the aberrant beings of Korthos as corruptions that must be purged- the descendants of the beings of madness from between the stars that the Moonling tries to destroy. These aberrant monsters- creatures of the aberration type- are madness given form, and the Moonling wishes to heal Korthos (and reality itself) of the madness and pain it suffers from, empowering her chosen faithful to banish these monsters in the same way they may heal patients suffering from diseases of the mind.

Relationship Reasoning

The Moonling is one of Hasuba's most beloved children- where Hasuba defends the thin layer of life on Korthos' surface, the Moonling protects from the dangers outside of the atmosphere and in the deep darkness of the planet's caverns. Although the Moonling is younger, their mysterious and vague nature often leads to misunderstandings- misunderstandings that Hasuba is very often willing to assist in fixing. Hasuba respects her child's devotion to healing the minds of her creations, and the agendas of the two ally very closely.
