Blackrock Tree
The Blackrock Tree is very unique and special on Korth. Immediately identifiable by it's lack of branches, this tree is a large spire into the sky. Sizes vary greatly in circumference and height. Some of the tallest being upwards of 80 feet, and 3 foot in diameter. What sets this tree apart other than it's appearance is its unusually hard nature. Almost as strong as stone, this tree is very similar to coal. The visual spire grows deep into the ground as well, with vast root systems. Most hardwood has a fuel ratio 1 to 2 compared to coal. Coal being twice as energy dense as wood when burned. However, Blackrock Wood the "wood" from the blackrock tree is almost identical in energy density as coal.
Basic Information
Anatomy
This tree is a tall dark spire. Reaching upwards of 80 feet tall, and up to 3 feet in diameter. This tree has no branches and no visible bark. The wood from this tree is almost has hard as stone, and very brittle.
Ecology and Habitats
The Blackrock Tree can be found all over Korth, although they are much more abundant in the swamp and wet regions. Such as near Swamp Pit

Uses, Products & Exploitation
Blackrock Wood is quite valuable. It burns much hotter, and longer than standard hardwood. While it is heavy, and difficult to transport. Those wishing to produce a fire hot enough to repurpose scrap metal desire this wood greatly. Thus, it is often harvested for it's wood.

Height often ranges from 60-80 feet for a large blackrock tree.
