Gyr

Gyr are extremely rare, as there are only around 50,000 worldwide, all living within the arctic circle.

Intelligent and semi-humanoid beasts closely related to gyrfalcons, the Gyr are a very rare people who live in the northern tundras of Kornax. Most scholars are unaware of their existence, and of those who are aware, there is speculation that they are some kind of fey descended relatives of aaracokra or owlins, but this is incorrect. They are, in fact, evolved beasts that descended from a common ancestor to gyrfalcons.
