Korinaar is a world where magic was infused in everything in your day to day life. 212 years ago, an Ancient Evil known only as "the One who waits" let loose a terrifying magical surge that purged magic from all it touched. Now Manarite is an extremely scarce resource that's used to create magical items. Now that magic items cannot be forged reliably, the 3 largest powers in the world have walled themselves off in a long-lasting cold war, for fear that a war without magic would bring ruin to all 3 of them. The powers are:    

United Cities of Kanterall. Republic with 4 major cities, each governed by a council with one standing military between them

Coalition of Mutual Earnings - Government loosely formed around many large tycoons looking to mutually gain money and power together. Largely revolves around money. Protected by enormous mercenary armies

 

Noble Empire of Yneria - Single Monarch rules here, protected by elite, well trained military. Government is largely dependent on military

Between these large powerful governments lie the free cities. These are people who's place belongs wherever they choose. Laws vary from place to place, each town defending and providing for itself, but due to the small size of each individual government, and the large profits that come from having a diverse market, the free cities often have wealth enough to become vast ports of culture and commerce. The Free Cities are often frontiers of new invention and unique individuals.     There are 3 moons - Azure, Emerald and Grey. They range from largest to smallest in that order, and rotate around the planet to create 3 seasons per year, each almost exactly 100 days long.
