Master

Overview

The Masters are a creation of the Eternal Death and basically nightmares made flesh. Why were they created? For shits and giggles. But they wreaked havoc under water and they really hate each other. They hate each other more than Sirens and Merfolks hate each other and this is an achivement for in and itself.
No Master looks like the other. Some are just a floating eyeball with tentacles, others look like a human and an octopus made love filled with hatred with each other and others... well, they are nightmare-stuff, don't get us started.

Being

Every Master - be it female, male, both or non-gendered - has its own agenda. Most of them want to rule over every other Master or be the one and only Master under the sea. It is really, really fucking hard to kill a Master for various reasons. One their physiology makes it really fucking hard. Second they normally have an army of slaves surrounding them and third their corruptive magic keeps them well, alive and safe.
Their only goal: wage war on the surface-dwellers. Why? For the glory of the Masters of course! And for territory. But mostly for glory. And a bit revenge for their littering and the ship wrecks. Not that the wrecks are the fault of the surface-dwellers, but it is their stuff.

Underwater wars

The Masters are only a handful, so they need slaves and territory for more slaves to conquer more territory...but to conquer more territory they need to get rid of other Masters.
And to kill a Master... well, you might spot a deep sea kraken before you see the carcass of a Master. They do not engage in open combat with each other except their slave armies have surrounded their foe and are ready to strike, the kill next to secured. Thousands over thousands of fish, octopods, Sirens and other, nastier creatures bound by their corrupting magic (sometimes it corrupts Merfolk as well) are killed in such engagements and fertiliser for the ocean floor.
Every Master has its own small or large palace and not even the Inquisition could be this evil. They don't fear a thing, not even the being which is captured by the Longardir and which nightmare creatures are fought by the Magmakin dwarves. They only fear to lose what they had fought for. They do not even fear death, because in death there is glory.
In rare cases a Master can defend itself, but every army and their palace are destroyed. So they wander around, gather minions and search for a new palace they can enhance, fortify and populate until they strike again.
But how many Masters are there and how do they populate? The answer is that rough guesses say around twenty to thirty and they don't. If a Master gets killed, there is never a new one. Some of them are old as Koria itself, but they don't have the need or the equipment for procreation. Maybe one find out how to do it with magic or alchemy, but right now the next engagment is more important.
