Token of Company
A sun-baked clay disk resting in a massive and otherwise desolate chamber beneath a Kanayan ziggaraut. The disk is in almost perfect condition, and clearly of great significance to be the only item in a hermetically sealed chamber, preserved even during the fall of the empire. During discovery, the disk now dubbed the Token, was seen to be covered in extremely small writing in a language not known by any at the dig site.
After being transported to Isoldean for further study, it was relized that this disk was a device used for recording information about conditions it is being exposed to in the moment mana is run through it. After long hours of trial and error, a team of Isoldian scholors managed to replicate the disk, and begin translating the meaning of the runes and writing on the original. This process took many solar cycles as the team could not make assumptions on the meaning of these terms instead putting the replicant tokens under different conditions and recording, cross referencing and translating the results that appeared on the faces of the tokens.
Unintentionally, during this process a great deal of progress was made towards deciphering the ancient Kanayan Lexicon and paved the way for many more historical discoveries. This is often swept to the side, because the research team hit a wall in their translation. There were thirteen symbols that evaded the research group, they were prevelent and significant to the translation. They were not able to isolate these symbols in their research with the tokens and had hit a wall in their understanding of the Token. What they had learned was that this token was much more advanced than their replicas, and what passages they had deciphered showed its ability to record extremely detailed information about many aspects of its surroundings, even making some assessments of the nature of items or constructs in its viscinity. One of the apprentices assisting their mentor on the research for the coin had been doing their own personal research on aracane creation and reinforcement of vacuums, and decided to throw one of the replicant tokens into a vacuum they had created to see how little it would record. Suddenly five symbols appeared in the text that followed that hadn't been seen before, and the results were world-shattering.
The Token had written upon it information recorded from a world with one sun, where the landscape was barren and rocky, and outside of autocthonous life capable of producing small atmospheric bubbles, there was no atmosphere. This was a recording of a place that did not exist on Korana or orbiting the Twin Stars. Due to the nature of the Token this was evidence of a new planet, new solar system, and new life somewhere deep within the void, and potentially a way to get there. Due to the implications of this artifact, and the understanding that Korani are not the only ones in the void, the Token was dubbed the Token of Company for we are no longer alone.
