The Twins

The Twins are not one but two, both significant in their own right but not individual when apart, they’re each a side of the same coin.

The female of the twins is called ‘Ferrn’ by many, she stands for fertility, battle and war, and love. Lovestruck people pray to her for their love to be requited, for their heartache to be soothed and for their love to remain strong, for her favour in battle and for the desperate to receive their greatest wish, the gift of a child. She is the one you pray to before the eve of battle, before the festival of Kyrth and when the love and desperation of a child is deemed impossible by any other means. And Ferrn, in that regard, has almost always been favourable.

Ferrn’s twin brother is called ‘Fen’ and he stands for the hunt, crops and luck, hunting praying to him, asking for their hunt to be successful, farmers pray for their fields to grow healthy and strong, and the unfortunate pray for a bit of luck in their life, for their luck to change and for the sun to shine on them in their endeavors. Unlike the Priest, Fen is prayed to for more than simple luck in life, he is the one you pray to when your winter has been harsh and your crops dead, when the hunt you set on could be the very thing your family and village depends on. Many gamblers give a quick prayer to him as well, and it is said that sometimes, when Fen feels mischievous, he will grant this favour, turning the tide in favour of the one who prayed to him.
