Hautausmaa

Hautausmaa is a collection of islands nestled between the south eastern borders of Hiekamaa and the north eastern borders of Montem Apicem, there is no capital, only decrepit villages scattered along the small clusters of islands, every village with it’s own dock, none big enough to call a proper harbour or port. Storms rage around the islands and the waters they are surrounded by, the water dark even on the brightest of days, the few days there are of those, and holds untold dangers. Many choose to set sail from the small, unclaimed islands between Hiekamaa, Montem Apicem and Mandir Van, sailing along the canal until they reach the back end of the islands and dock there at one of them. The largest of these small islands of Hautausmaa is nestled close to Hiekamaa, and on a clear day, one can see the darkened islands from the coast. The water surrounding Hautausmaa is dark and murky, named the ‘Dark Water’ for it’s ominous darkness and the dark horrors beneath the surfaces. There is no single governing figure that rules over Hautausmaa, each village and town dictating themselves, distrustful of outsiders and prefer to be left alone. Many on the islands prefer solitude and so it’s often overlooked and forgotten, as the inhabitants probably want it to be. The islands are filled with rocky terrain and forgotten caverns that hold an ominous promise to any who are foolish enough to approach, a promise that they may not return, dark creatures roaming the night sky and you would seldom find someone outdoors at night.

Religion

Many in Hautausmaa have given up on religion, the cluster of islands haunted by all manner of creatures and monsters, raveging the unaware and those who forego caution, many sees the islands as forgotten by the Divines, out of their sight and protection, thus many turn to themselves for luck and fortune and health. There are few whom the islands have yet to break, who still pray to the Divines, but they are scarce and few.
Currency
Dreshka. A currency of coins with the image of a Dremlock on both sides. Gold is the most precious, worth 50 per coin. Silver has a decreased value, yet still significant, leaving it’s value at 15. Iron has a currency that’s lower, closer to what most can afford, worth 5 per coin. The lowest is tin, worth 1 per coin. For Hautausmaa, gold and silver Dreshka are a rarity, and many trade with whatever they have, be that food, clothes or other amenities.
