Kako the Deep, distraught by his lover's death, became maddened by the liars within the world, and called for their sacrifice. In Protheroe, a group known as the Seaweavers split off to use Inkweaving to fulfill Kako's wishes, while the Bloodweaver's refused. When Kako called for an end to it, and Oracles were created, the Seaweavers went into hiding.

The Divine Kako the Deep called for the persecution of liars, and Inkweaving suffered an enormous loss of followers and Inkweavers during this time. A split occured in the Bloodweavers; those who believed that Kako's wishes should be fulfilled to the best of their abilities, which meant using Inkweaving to reveal liars, and those who believed that Inkweaving should not be used to persecute in a way that would lead to execution or sacrifice.   A group known as the Seaweavers broke off from the Bloodweavers and began using their Inkweaving to force truths from others, which led to their execution. Many secrets that were keeping people safe were revealed, and the province was in chaos for nearly six years.   Finally, Kako called for an end to the slaughter. When the Oracles were created and persecution of liars came to a halt, the Seaweavers were shunned, and they publicly dispersed. However, they remained in hiding, and continued to build in secret. Their goal was to discover and use different ways in which Inkweaving could be used.
