Greytower
Greytower is a massive tower at the center of Stobon. It is a tower that bridges two worlds. The foot of the tower opens on Under Run, where the majority of the workforce of Stobon resides. From the top floor, a pedestrian can cross the bridge to Over Run, the much wealthier neighborhood on the other side of the river.
The upper and lower floors of the tower each act as a headquarters for a contingent of the city guard. The eight stories in between house residents who don't quite fit in either of the river neighborhoods. All told, approximately 400 citizens live in the tower.
Greytower is the oldest surviving building in Stobon, and has as many secrets as it has years.
Architecture
The heavy stone tower takes advantage of a natural outcropping of rock. On the outside, it appears sturdy and Gothic and timeless. But inside, the walls are paper-thin and hastily assembled in order to fit as many apartments as possible. The accommodations grow more grand as you climb the tower.
History
Greytower is the oldest building in Stobon, a massive fortress built into a cliff overlooking the Winterrun. Although it originally had a military purpose, it has become a semi-public building that acts as a bastion for the city guard, apartments for the lower-to-middle classes, and general transit between Over Run and Under Run.
