The University

The University is the largest academic institution in the world. Its most unique feature is its magic department dedicated to cataloging magic traditions, investigating the nature of magic itself, and distinguishing "real magic" from explainable scientific phenomena or trickery. Assisting their efforts to identify "true magic" from otherwise natural phenomena, the university has a variety of departments dedicated to the arts and sciences, whose accomplishments have evolved Sirom into a robust cultural melting pot and leader in technology (even rivaling the dwarves).
The original elven university, known as The Sage's University, was mostly destroyed and its library burned during the almost 500 year human/dwarven occuptation of Sirom. The current University was built in 1829 and is considered a successor to that original Sage's University, but almost none of its original texts survive.
