Counterparts

Two people are counterparts when their existences are intertwined. They aren't always born on the same day, but they die exactly at the same time. They usually live in distant places, sometimes not even in the same world.

For long time it was thought to be an ability existent only in the Ninth World, but now we know that some cases had shown in other worlds, without a discernible pattern. In some cases the counterparts are not even form the same planet or layer.

Some of them are linked in other ways, which allows them to be aware of their condition. In other cases it takes a perceptive to determine it. While there are not many cases known, it's impossible to be sure how many pairs of counterparts died without ever knowing about it.

Usually people refer to this condition with different terms according to individual preference and the particular case: intertwining, connection, etc...

For the person who happens to share this link with someone, there are official terms in different regions.
