Mallorn Trees

Mallorn is a very special type of tree dating back to the age of fables. Most Mallorn trees were destroyed at the end of the First Age. It is possible to plant and grow them from a Mallorn Seed, but it is extremely difficult, and some of the worlds greatest gardeners have failed to produce even one successful Mallorn sapling.
Very few Mallorn trees exist in this age, but those that do are a glorious sight to behold if you are fortunate enough to view one. Currently they exist only in the greatest of glades and the most ancient of druid groves. About one tree is successfully grown every decade, more often than not by a devote druid of Arawyn. On rare occasion nefarious society has created the situation where the extremely rich have found ways to procure them at their estates.
For one who understands the ways and values of Arawyn, a pathway can be open for travel between these trees, referred to in ancient times as The Emerald Path. One who is properly trained could touch the tree, close their eyes, and reopen them at another location in the world.
