Elves

Elves: Elves who's skin ranges from obsidian black to as pale as the moonlight that they worship. They are most commonly found in the East (though some are found in the Bloody Mountains) because of their affinity to jewels and alchemy that can be achieved with the minerals and precious stones that can be found in the soil of the Golden city. They range from just taller than a typical dwarf to well over three meters high. Clothing differs depending on region, but one thing is the same. All females wear a silver circlet with an amethyst gem dangling down. This is to show their dedication to the Goddess of the moon and all men are expected to wear a black sash around the waist that is kept in place with a half moon broach. Elves, that do not identify as either or one biological gender are not expected to wear either of the ceremonial items, but are expected to have some sort of moon insignia on them at all times, most commonly found in a half moon necklace that can be worn by anybody.

Anatomy

Two arms and Legs Pointed ears that range from 2 cm long to 10 cm long All elves have hair past their chin, as no matter how short they cut it, it will always grow quickly to that length then take a long amount of time to grow longer. Depending on where they live they have razor sharp pointed teeth (West) or normal omnivore teeth (East) Even with, often, willowy frames all elves are able to lift twice their weight naturally due to them being derived from spirits.

Genetics and Reproduction

The reproduce sexually, male and female parts are the same in Elves as they are in Humans. Female Elves do not have periods and instead, the race are only able to conceive on the night of a full moon.

Growth Rate & Stages

For every one year in Elven culture, it is two years in human culture. Infancy ends when the Elf is 3 (6 in human years) Toddlers transition into a child at 6 (12 in human years) Children transition into teens at 12 (24 in human years) Teens transition into adults at 19 (38 in human years) Adults transition into Elders when they are 100 (200 in human years)
Elves can live up until the age 1000 (2000 in human years)

Ecology and Habitats

Elves, originally came from moon spirits, so open areas where the moon isn't obstructed is a perfect environment for them, though they do not need the moon to survive as many of them live in the Alchemy schools which include underground dorms where the students will live for years to practice without outside interference.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Elves are born with offensive and Defensive magic abilities, implying that at one point conflict was a constant so we can gather that they did at one point have to hunt animals (West Elves still do), now though they are able to grow food in fields.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Due to their pointed ears their audio reception is the best in all of Kitharea, especially those with longer ears. All Elves also have the ability to tell which direction the tide will go in and out as well as know anything that is effected by the moon, this is because of their spiritual connection to it. They have natural abilities as mages, as their blood has high concentrations of magic in it.

Names are generally picked by the parents before the birth, traditionally it was a combination of the two parents names but the names began to get really jumbled so they made new names and gave their children them instead

Major Organizations

Religious leaders: High Priest/Priestess and Religious representatives in the governing bodies.
Political bodies: There are a group of Elves from each major group (Religion, Trade ect.) and they all talk about how the laws work and how they could improve them. They have discussions with the governing Prince and talk about how to work better with the 'Dragon' Princes.
There are factions in Elven communities (mainly in the Bloody Mountains) that oppose the rule of the 'Dragon' Princes. And work to overthrow them.

Non. Size is not a big deal and if you have a bigger body you are often thought to have a particularly large soul and thought of as kind hearted.

History

Elves were the leading race of Kitharea until they were almost wiped out by Dragons, which is when the royal race appeared and killed them off, and due to the eleven affinity to magic and alchemy they became major investments, for the royal court.

Eleven/Dwarf relationship: Friendly terms no matter what region they live in. The two are similar in abilities and culture.
Eleven/Human relationship: Less friendly than the dwarfs but that is because they don’t interact as much, politically it is shaken but when meeting face to face relations are fine.
