Little Meldon
The home of peace, happiness and wide open fields. Life is simple yet charming.
This quaint, cheerful village is run by a human man Lord Borean, a fair and kind Lord who was once a fine warrior, now quite aged. It is not considered polite to mention his late wife in his company, the love of his life who was killed in an orc raid many years before, when their son Lasek, was still very young.
Lasek has always had a strong, close relationship with his father and is now a fine soldier and a skilled diplomat, following in his father's footsteps, ever striving to make his father proud. Lasek is currently away on a diplomatic mission, the details of which are quite hushed, known only to those who need to know.
Little Meldon is a small farming village located on the edge of the Canlorn Forest. It has had a troubled past, now almost completely consigned to the history books, but has enjoyed many peaceful years. Mainly due to Lord Borean's personal retribution following a devastating orc raid. The village used to border what was known as the Shadow Lands but that name is old history now, the shadow having long since passed. Due to it's recent peaceful nature the village now only has a small retinue of guard who now only deal with simple misdemeanours, usually caused by too much ale. However a small part of that guard are former elite Royal Guard, a hangover from Lord Borean's younger days and his personal mission to ensure the village never suffers another orc raid again.
Industry & Trade
Little Meldon relies heavily on it's own farming to sustain itself. However there are other trades in this simple village. There is a blacksmith that mainly makes horseshoes and other tools used by the local farmers but due to the area's history also creates and maintains basic weapons and armour for the local guard. There is also a tavern and a small shop selling general goods.
Architecture
Being just a simple farming village, the architecture is fairly mundane, nothing special at all. Simple brick buildings with wooden frames and thatched roofs. Even though it may be simple it is quaint and beautiful in it's own right. The town hall is much grander, befitting it's status as the central hub of the town and the home of the local ruler, Lord Borean.
