Lor Starcutter

Written by ModulusDivision
Due to the nature of the Lor's existence as a person and a place, information about him is listed in two pages. Please see his character page for further information.   Both a location and an individual mind, the Lor Starcutter is one of the last crafts that the Ancients created prior to their fall. Their flagship, the Lor was often tasked with transporting star rods to their eventual homes within the dream fountains, and facing any major opponents that the Ancients unfortunately could not reason with.   In the modern era, the Lor houses a few of his own family members; his partner, NOVA (#4), lives with him, as well another younger and heavily modded NOVA that they've adopted, Star Dream. One of his creators that he views as a father figure, Hyness, is another new addition, though his current living situation is more of a way of preventing him from causing further harm to the galaxy.   Magolor and Marx, NOVA and the Lor's other adoptive children, have lived with the Lor in the past but have recently moved to Floralia.

Purpose / Function

The Lor was created by the ancients primarily as a warphole cutter, allowing instantaneous travel anywhere across the universe, across dimensions, or even across time. As their flagship, he was also a symbol of the Ancients' presence within an area, and was frequently used to transport important information and precious cargo.   He has a few dummied out functions that he has not been and/or currently is not aware of, such as the ability to freely shift internal elemental types (between light, dark and typeless magic), and the ability to see and open portals throughout time.

Alterations

Major alterations have been made to the ship's internals since his resurrection at the hands of Magolor, a modern Halcandran. His damage after storage from the era of the Ancients to the late era of modern Halcandra was extensive, and Magolor had to replace a great deal of his control interface. Thankfully this was not impossible, as the Lor's internals are designed in block formations, which also allows for regular and rapid change of room structure. Some added rooms include one with a swimming pool, and another with a live tree and sunning rock.   The Lor has also gained a secondary body in the form of an android with which he interacts with various mortals inside and outside of his starship form. He can control both bodies simultaneously, and has unique mannerisms for both. He occasionally uses both at once to communicate with people.

Architecture

The ship form is made of sturdy metal filled with generally typeless magic to provide a number of offensive and assistive powers. The hull is primarily polished chrome, which the Lor keeps clean and proper as much as possible. The areas between blocks in his internals glow with a rainbow of colors as his energy passes through them. This also lights most of the ship up inside and out. This glow can also be seen on his android's coat, and between the seams of his outer armor layer.

History

Sadly, the vast majority of the Lor's life was spent in silence; for the first portion of his life spent in service to the Ancients he was highly revered, but encouraged not to bond too strongly with any one individual nor speak his mind. The eternal spirit that the Ancients created to power him perpetually provided him with emotions, but he was then coded in a way that allowed and encouraged him to suppress them. He therefore rarely spoke, and once his creators' culture fell he proceeded to enter a deep sleep that lasted the vast majority of his life.   As such, his current family has taught him much about life and about himself; the only things he misses from his past are the precious moments he remembers where his creators did spend the personal time with him that he once shunned.
