The Kith's worshippers were not the only survivors. Across all of Ku'Eza, small tribes of people had found their own way to survive. Many found themselves tucked away in small pockets of nature where the spirit world intersected with the material. These people developed new cultures and beliefs through living alongside spirits. One practice that seemed to exist in almost all of them, was mortals offering their physical bodies to spirits for a greater chance of mutual survival. These practices spawned a number of new species, from beastfolk to shapeshifters. In the fragmented history of these tribes, most recall the union of mortal and spirit being permanent the night that a pinkish red moon hung in the sky for the first time.
Other historical entries also attribute this moon to the discovery of new animals like mammoths and saber-tooth tigers.
