Slug Bog

This area is known to be a breeding ground for giant slugs. Mating season tends to be in early spring, and they are much calmer outside of the month of Gozran.  
Don Rumbleblossom was able to use Speak With Animals to communicate with the creatures and come to an amicable arrangement. If the party would destroy the bog mummies upriver, they would in turn provide as much acid as they were able to produce and collect. Since the bog mummies were destroyed, the slugs provided the acid and are helpful toward future collection efforts.

The Giant Slug is a HUGE creature able to spew a deadly stream of acid at whatever it considers to be potential food.
