Naayu

Naayu is the Oaran word for chaos. Along with the Oa, it is believed to be one of the original two components of the universe. The Naayu is also a place. It spherically surrounds the Lake of Origins, sitting between the lake and the surface of the planet Ylis. The area itself is so unpredictable that the native Naayir and trained Architects are the only ones who regularly enter and navigate it.

Geography

The Naayu is ever-shifting, full of non-euclidean shapes that don't abide by any known natural laws. It generally appears as a vast white expanse, though beyond this it can vary. Some areas are merely shapes floating in the whiteness, while others are entire landscapes made of strange, twisting, multicolored components that form a picture more unusual than any fantasy. As a general rule, the landscape gets more chaotic the closer to the Oa one gets, until one reaches the borders of Origin Sanctuary.

Localized Phenomena

Within the Naayu, there are unique weather phenomena called entropic storms. During an entropic storm, the chaos is completely uncontrollable. Even Naayir fear these storms, which tear through like tornadoes. Depending on how lucky someone is, a person who becomes trapped in an entropic storm may be immediately disintegrated, go insane, or become entirely lost. The only way to avoid the potentially deadly storms is by sensing them coming, which is another reason that it is extremely dangerous for a non-Architect to venture into the Naayu.

Fauna & Flora

The Naayir are the only known creatures native to the Naayu. Architects and Naayir may be able to manipulate the Naayu to create other organisms within it, or creatures from outside may wanter in, but the location is otherwise void of life.
