GN&SR 320 Class

The Great Northern & Southern Railway 320 Class was a thirty - six 0-6-0T tank engines designed by Macaulay James and built between 1884 and 1887.   In 1881, the   Sales:
Between 1911 and 1920, nine locomotives were sold to various private buyers. Three went into colliery service, four went into contract work and two were sold to an ironstone quarry in the midlands.

327 №7 Royston Opencast Colliery 1911 Became Royston Opencast №6, worked until she was involved in a crash at the site. Withdrawn 04/1946, derailed and ran into support beam for the rimber bridge carrying the colliery's narrow gauge line, moved to the sheds and broken up by 1948.
338 "Gilded Lily" №19 (carried №338 until 1919) Abbott & Merryfield Contractor 1911 Used on the LCST Seawall / Bordon Extention (1911), NMR Kelston - Elsbourne contract (1912 - 15), ENR Buckland Branchline (1922 - 1925), VCC Bryarstone Colliery Branchline (1927 / 28). Withdrawn 11/1964, sold to Gordon Hargrave LTD for scrapping but sold in 1966 to Southholm & Dunfield Railway as a restoration project, now operational on the Petunia Line.
