Bronson & Co.
Bronson & Co. (or simpley "Bronson's") was an Engineer and Machinery Merchant based out of Moss Heath, West Etorea. They were formed in 1933 by George Bronson and operated until their closure in 1987.
The firm began trading as Bronson & Son in 1933, later being changed to Bronson & Co. in 1938 when George Bronson's son joined the Royal Air Force of Etorea. They initially started life repairing and then reselling used farm equipment but would be trading in all maner of industrial equipment by 1941. During their early years, their site at Moss Heath was little more than an acre of land surrounded by a stone wall. This would be improved as the firm purchased more land and built a boiler works, a small garage, fitting hut and other buildings to suit their growing needs. In 1939, they purchased their first railway locomotive after mostly trading in used mine and farm equipment. The plan for this locomotive was that it was to be regauged to 5ft gauge and exported for use at a copper mine in the Middle East but these plans never came to fruition because of the Second World War.
