Sumatra
Sumatra is a nation in the archipelago of East Indies. It is greatly influenced by the government of the Empire of Japan.
History
Due to the terms of the treaty ending the The Great War, Japan was forbidden from occupying the nation due to being on the losing side, and instead began to establish a puppet regime. The idea to keep the archipelago separate was an act by Japan itself in order to make the region more manageable. Sumatra came under the rule of the Asahan Sultanate.
Following the Russo-German War, the Sultanate of Sumatra agreed to sign the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere, though to a great amount of cohersion from Japan.
