1634: Disbanding of the Harpers
1634 DR was not a good year for the Harpers. They lost their contract to operate in the Baldurian Commonwealth, and Neverwinter had repeatedly refused their presence in their Empire. This, combined with constant infighting over ideals and methodology led to a second Harper Schism; no violent conflict, but a peaceful split. the High Harpers would go their own separate ways, each forming or joining different groups.
High Harper Valuhn Dietermann would end up joining the Hunter's Guild, becoming one of the integrated families who would end up controlling the organization. Many lower ranking members would scatter and start their own lives, create families, while others found their way into the Cobalt Soul through one means or another. A small amount even end up on the payroll of the Holy Foundation as informants.
A group of fanatic individuals, dedicated wholly to the Harpers' goal of destroying authoritarianism and tyranny, Would create a successor group known as the Sons of the Silver Moon. This however translated more into reckless anarchism, as their lack of finesse and more detailed dogma led them to identify the vast majority of governments and societies, regardless of their allegiances and following, as corrupt and evil. Another successor organization, the Black Harpers, would compromise and collaborate with the Neveren Empire, operating as an unofficial Spy Network for the Imperial Government. These differing groups often came into clashes with each other, both citing the same historical names and heroes from the Harpers, both believing themselves to be the True Harpers.
