Atios is known to be home to small groups of distinct species whose origins are unknown. They have been found wandering in the wilderness, disoriented, and unable to speak the local language, wearing clothes made of strange, unfamiliar materials.
It is theorized that these strangers are yet another oddity that have been left behind by the Darkness. Curious scholars have questioned these newcomers in the hopes of finding out more about the Starless Nights. But even when communication is possible, they have often been found to have suffered memory loss and are unable to provide anything more than confused babbling.
Rumor has it that before the Darkness returned, the land beyond the desert north of Din'Lux was populated by another species of people with whole towns and cities. A few sightings of these unfamiliar people have occurred since the return of the Starless Nights, leading some to believe that the desert is no longer impassable as it once was.
