The Shardbearer of Adonn
It is said by some who worship the Ring of Divinity that Kindevion's pantheon has long been incomplete, for they believe that Adonn, the God of Storms and Victory, is no more. Many claim Adonn's hubris had led him to become corrupt, and so the other celestials banded together to destroy him. They shattered his soul into countless pieces, scattering them amongst creation so that he may never return again.
A shard of Adonn's soul is said to have reached Kindevion, and that shard has been inherited by many people throughout history. There can only be one of these Shardbearers at a time, people for whom Adonn's soul has become part of their own, and these individuals are said to possess incredible power over magic. Many of these Shardbearers choose to take the name of Optimus, an ancient Primordial word meaning protector. These Shardbearers choose to use their power to protect the innocent and safeguard the realm from magical threats. Shardbearers are almost always have dark skin and black hair.
When a Shardbearer dies in battle, the Shard of Adonn within them is granted to the child of their killer. If a Shardbearer dies peacefully, the Shard instead moves to the next child to be born in their family. If there is no next of kin, the Shard transfers to a random newborn.
The current Shardbearer of Adonn is Optimus Slatecutter
