Sleeping Lily
The Sleeping Lily is a plant native to Novold. It is quite similar to other plants in the Lily family, yet has a purple hue to its petals and a silvery glint when viewed from certain angles. The Sleeping Lily is so named for the aroma it produces, which carries a biological compound which, when inhaled, induces sleep within creatures with respiratory systems within 10 seconds. This state will last for up to an hour if removed from exposure, but is permanent if exposure is continuous. Those subjected to continuous exposure to the scent will eventually perish from starvation, and will provide nutrients to the lilies during decomposition.
By drying and grinding down the petals of the Sleeping Lily, their sleep-inducing scent no longer occurs, but the effect can still be achieved if consumed orally.
Basic Information
Genetics and Reproduction
The Lily reproduces through pollenation. Sleeping Lilies typically grow in large patches or groves, as to maximize their sleep-inducing effect.
