Session Zero

Rules for Characters starting a new campaign.

The 10,000 ft pitch

The Elven kingdom of Idylliar has discovered a new continent to the north of The Protectorate, a place that should not exist but does. They don't have enough resources to explore it on their own and no one else has the ships to get to it, so they decided to get the help of the other major kingdoms of the region to settle and explore it together.

Once word got out of what the kingdoms of The Protectorate were up to, the smaller City-States, Tribes, and Warlords that exist outside of it wanted to join in as well. Everyone has agreed to a "peace" and open hostility has evaporated nearly overnight. But, just because everyone has to publicly smile and be nice doesn't mean that blades have been sheathed in the shadows.

All races* can be found throughout the kingdoms. Some are more common than others in regions, but you can be from any region and make it work for your theme.   All classes* are currently available.   *Homebrew content must be reviewed and approved before being used at the table. It will then be formally added for all.   Everyone will be starting off from a common Region known as The Protectorate. This is a standard Fantasy setting that sits at the start of a new age of exploration. It is a cobbled-together fantasy world that sometimes bridges over into science fiction and horror.   Players should pick one of the following kingdoms to be from at the start of the campaign.
  • The United Council of Idylliar (United Elven Kingdoms)
  • Chronos the First Kingdom (Dueling, Mage-Crusader Kingdom)
  • Lustra the Second Kingdom (Noble, Tiefling-Vikings)
  • Forgehome the Third Kingdom (Dwarven, Spartan, Military Industrial Complex)
  • Imperial Court of the Fourth Kingdom (Draconic Russian & Oriental Traditionalist)
  • Wellspring the Fifth Kingdom (Food Belt Fey Kingdom)
  • The Expanse the Sixth Kingdom (Vast Wilderness Preserve Kingdom guarding the roads into the other Five Kingdoms)
  • Independent City-States (Outside the Six Kings Jurisdictioni.e. what every you need this to be, make your own city-state}
  • Horde Lands (term used to describe the lawless areas ruled by tribes of raiders and would-be warlords)
