Solish Rivergrass

At the bottom of the Esle River is a rivergrass that grows long enough in droughts that it fills the river with its leaves.     The leaves are green at the top and as you follow them down to the bottom of the riverbank, they are brown.     Healers have found that the leaves from this rivergrass can be used in multiple ways:  as a tea, a medicinal paste, a delicious lettuce/ seaweed, in dyes and in perfumes and incense (once dried).  The rivergrass is called Solish grass.  It grows rapidly through the spring and summer seasons.  In the winter time, if the water freezes, it breaks off and floats free down the river.  It can then be used to make cord.     Leaves from Solish grass can be turned into Solish tea.  The tea is generally made out of the top part of the leaves.  The greener the leaf, the more flavorful the tea.     Some healers step into the cold spring waters and swim below to pull up the young leaves from the river muck.  Others wait until summer when the moving waters are warmer.  Then they ease into the river and pull up the leaves.     The Founders Sect recommends that Solish leaves be harvested from one section of the river once a season.  If you pull all of the leaves in a section of the river without leaving enough to reseed the river, then you will kill the Solish in a river.  The Solish leaves can also be used in salads.  All portions of the leaves can be cut up and other vegetables can be mixed up with them.     Founders Sect Recommended Ways to use the Solish rivergrass   1. Make Solish green tea.  Dry out the tea and use the dried leaves to make tea 2. Make Salad 3. Use the leaves for medicine - it can cure stomach aches 4. Use the brown section of the leaves to create cord.  It is very valuable for cord that can be used around a household.  Warning - it is not strong enough to hold people.  It will strain and snap.   5. The leaves from the bottom can also be used in perfumes to add depth to a fragrance 6. The leaves from the bottom can also be used to create fabric dyes 7. The leaves from the bottom can also be used to create incense.  The incense smells like cinnamon
