Outer limits of Vieta
The outer limits of Vieta are patrolled by the military which has a garrison in Vieta and a spaceport for the shuttles that run between Vieta and the Mothership. The AGP used to patrol - and still has a volunteer militia for outposts, but since the colony has expanded, the Military has expanded to send units to support major colonies at the request of the AGP or the Founders Sect.
Beyond the outer limits of Vieta
Shadow Lake is a major lake on the edge of Vieta’s limits. Settlers that appreciate camping and outdoor activity camp and fish and hunt in the nearby region. Beyond the lake, the grasslands stretch and then become forests that have not yet been officially scouted and documented by the Council. The AGP and the Founders Sect have sent scouts to establish outposts, but until an outpost contains more than 50 souls, the military has agreed Dashboardto let the Founders Sect and the AGP provide support and governance. This has led to some skirmishes between the two organization’s representatives, but nothing rising to the level of the mini-civil war that took place before the Esle Accords were signed.
Outposts
There are currently 3 outposts in Coracle. Two of them have been established by the Founders Lights - a scouting arm of the Founders Sect. They are essentially Scouts that are seeking to expand the reach of the Founders Sect and ensure that the resources of Coracle and ultimately the planet, are not abused. They were established after the AGP left Cathay against the advice of the Council to found Eldritch. The Founders Sect is behind the AGP in expanding its reach, as Vieta was established shortly after Eldritch. There is no major city or settlement beyond Cathay that is governed by the Founders Sect.
Jakuten Outpost
The Jakuten Outpost was established by the AGP. There are more merchants in Jakuten then there are settlers trying to survive in the Wilderness beyond the Esle River. It is a very early outpost. Only twenty souls are living there. The AGP is trying to recruit more settlers from Vieta and Eldritch. A few scouts from the Founders Sect have joined, but they are more interested in keeping it full of AGP adherents.
* Environment
Jakuten is in the middle of the forest just outside of Vieta. The trees grow close together. In order to set up the outpost, the AGP had to cut down a large number of trees to make space for the outpost limits. They used the trees to build the walls. Because the outpost is in the middle of the forest, the outpost guards are always on watch. There are several predators that can take a hunter or a settler unawares.
Sereneth Outpost
* Sereneth was established by the Founders Sect. It is a essentially a small fort built after a Founders Sect scout established an outpost near a river that splits off from the Esle River that comes down the (need mountain range name). The areas is primarily grasslands with forests to the northwest. The outpost members trade with Eldritch and some trappers even trade with Vieta. To date, the only creatures near Sereneth were native to Coracle. No sentient life was noted in the Mothership’s scans.
* Environment
Sereneth is an outpost that was built 10 years after the Settlement of Eldritch was established. It is built across the river from Eldritch, about a couple of miles through more grasslands, past Acacia Lake. It is surrounded by grasslands. Several miles from the outpost, the continent ends in a cliff face that look out across the sea. There is nothing on the horizon except ocean. The scene doesn't change much unless a storm fills the sky and then moves in from the ocean and carries it across the Esle Plains.
Islington Outpost
The Islington Outpost is the second Founders Sect outpost, established about 20 years from the present time. It was built out on the west coast of Coracle. While it is an official outpost, it is also an opportunity for the Founders Sect to spy on packet ships and airships that come to Cathay from Vieta. This outpost is also built on the edge of the forest that overlooks the coast. They knew that beyond the horizon was another continent, but from the outpost, it could not be seen. The Founders Sect sent out scouts to establish it once Vieta began sending Airships and Pack ships to the Cathay ports.
* Environment
Islington is on the edge of the coast, a few miles east of the forest that lines the Esle Plains. Merchants and hunters that live/ visit there send back goods to Cathay and Vieta. It is finally growing large enough to request military protection.
