Personal history
Tali Raa was born the daughter of a minor functionary sworn to the Great Dwarven Empire in a small village which would be subsumed by Khapitaten only a few years later. Watching that great city being constructed around her was perhaps the most formative experience of Lady Flare's long life. The incredible and alien construction methods of the dwarves at the height of their institutional power kindled an intense desire in the young girl to do something equally as impressive, to forge her own legacy as enduring as the great pyramids rising around her. She would never accomplish that following the example of her parents, and so ran away at a young age. Not much is known about her early years on her own, the next time she would appear in the historical record would be around a decade later when she met those who thought they would be the first explorers of the Eternal Desert, confidently passing them striding out burned, barefoot, and clad in threadbare rags but already holding within her an incalescence far greater than the sands behind her. It's not clear exactly how Tali bonded with her first Animus at so young an age and without instruction, especially considering its great power. On the few occasions she has been willing to discuss it, she always claims it was an accident, but if that's true it would be the only known accidental spirit bond in all of history. Whatever the circumstances, the newly minted Lady Flare had managed to acquire eternal youth, immortality, and arcane power beyond the dreams of most magi, all at the age of seventeen. Though her dream was well within her grasp, she did not reach out and seize it. Instead she has spent over seven thousand years slowly building her reputation and her power, travelling all over Khthon and bonding with hundreds more anima. Whether she has chosen the slow and steady path to building her legacy, or if she merely hasn't yet decided to make her move is a question which never strays far from the minds of Khthon's most powerful. Even to the present day, her most overt move was joining The Explorer's Guild, using it to seek the ever receding horizons which give her the opportunity to increase her power. Though she is doubtless the most successful Anima Seeker to ever live, she has no permanent membership with any related organization, merely occasional associations when one happens to be in her path.
