Personal history
If it were not so gauche and partisan to do so while he is still alive, the textbooks in Oros would have a picture of Eurymachos in them next to their entry for nearly every public office. By every indication he is the platonic ideal of a public servant in word, deed, and appearance. Indeed, he has held almost every office in the city at one point or another throughout his career, and was wildly popular during his tenure at each. Ten years ago he rose to the pinnacle of Orosian politics and became the youngest man ever appointed Archon of the republic. Technically he has performed his actual duties fewer times than any Archon in history over the same time period, but that is likely because those duties consist almost entirely of breaking tie votes and there have been no ties since he took office in large part because whatever he supports wins by a significant margin. His most ardent detractors can't even point to a policy disagreement, they simply fear that his overwhelming influence and charisma will see the fall of the republic and the rise of an empire, likely to thunderous applause. Outside of politics, Eurymachos is a fixture at every tavern and club in the city on a rotating schedule, where he philosophizes, poetizes, and simply converses with anyone who will speak with him. He is also preeminent wrestler and well respected painter. He often jokes that his only regret was selling his soul to Asmodeus to lose his need to sleep because it still leaves him only twenty-four hours in a day, but one could easily be forgiven for taking him at his word. The only minor scandal in his career among those few in Hellenis bothered by such a thing is his public relationship with and patronage of the courtesan Thais of Oros. But given that she is the most sought after and exclusive courtesan on the continent, even that has had overall a significant positive effect on his popularity.
Education
Eurymachos is a University of Oros man, through and through. He primarily attended, predictably, the College of Crowns. There has been significant discussion and tentative approval for the idea that, upon his death, the auditorium used for lessons on public speaking and debate will be renamed after him, which the Archon has declared the greatest honor of his life or death.
