Block o' Bronze
Purpose / Function
The Block o' Bronze inhabits a strange place in the culture and government of Kasmenetros. It was originally constructed as, and according to many is once again, simply the first and largest tavern in the city. Shortly after the formation of the Captains' Council, it was unanimously decided that since all of its members spent so much time there already, it would become the formal seat of the city's government. It served that purpose for over a hundred years until the council outgrew even the ever-expanding tavern and had to be moved to the great hall and its accompanying polis. It is at this point many would say that the structure returned to its roots as simply the first and largest tavern, but what they do not realize is that the enormous block of bronze in the main hall is not the one which inspired the name on the sign above the door. There is a smaller and older block in one of the private rooms which holds that honor. If it just so happens that the room in question is only granted to the most influential members of the Captains' Council, and they happen to all drink there at the same time shortly before important votes are held in the great hall, would that change the purpose of the Block o' Bronze?
Alterations
Kasmenetros' largest tavern has more individual rooms than any other building in the city, and as of the current day, no two were built at the same time. Its owners have taken its boast about being the largest tavern in the city very seriously and have expanded aggressively along with the growth of the city. There are several roads that actually run through the tavern, with doors opening into it on both sides of the street and the floor of the fourth story blocking the sun above.
Architecture
Due to the extended timeframe over which new rooms were added and older ones replaced, the architectural style of the Block o' Bronze can kindly be called eclectic, but may be more accurately referred to by the phrase "absolute chaos."
