Athena Fouché Léger is one of the most powerful and famous wizards on Khthon. She has been so for essentially the entirety of recorded history, making her origins impossible to guess at. One of the most popular, though unsupported, theories is that she was an original immigrant to Khthon, arriving on one of the arks that first brought humans into the world across the Astral Sea. Whatever her origin, her legacy will likely always be the series of educational institutions that bear her name. At the absolute apex of magical learning are the Athenaeums she founded.

Ironically for someone so deeply entwined with the highest levels of education and knowledge on Khthon, nothing is known about her own education. Given the span of years between sightings of Athena, it's possible she learned before Khthon as a whole was able to keep track of such things.
