Board for Rapid Innovation and Gnomish High-End Tinkering

The Board for Rapid Innovation and Gnomish High-End Tinkering (BRIGHT) was instituted by king Jalyxx II of the Kingdom of Labar in 394 LC. Its mission became to bring engineers and scientists together, in order to speed up technological progress. This technology, Jalyxx II argued, was the 'destiny of gnomekind'. The fact that other races were interested in the toys and tools from Labar certainly helped.
Another, more political explanation for the founding of BRIGHT was that it brought about collaboration between engineers from every corner of Labar, at a time when intellectuals again started flirting with the idea of a Federation of the West.
