Ilza & Mino's Gossip: Paintings
The girls huddle together in the corner of Pitya’s Skwoko, always curious to hear whatever fanciful tale they have.
MINO: “Did you go to the Ngasma Dezha Luze byi?” ILZA: “I don’t have the time to go to stuffy galleries. My brother’s getting wed. I’m making gulas and learning how on earth to do Kavale.” MINO: “But I thought the macabre interested you? Didn’t you sneak into the Vidama’s chambers when your father was part of the Council of Brethren” ILZA: “Yes I did. But my father wasn’t of the Council of Brtheren. He was Nyanv to Nwa Khrumzi. And I got 12 strikes from my Env for it. She would have given me more if I wasn’t so tiny.” MINO: “Well this time you can go look at something without 12 strikes. They’ve got a painting in the gallery of Humpil the Bloody.” ILZA: “And? I could watch a play about her that would tell me more.” MINO: “But the best part… the Nwa who painted it went all crazed while he did it.” ILZA: “I think I know what you mean, but he was the one with Lover’s Fever. Probably went crazy because of that.” MINO: “Ilza! You are so rational. Can you brain not like a good story?” ILZA: “Yes it can; there are many a good story found in fact. Now did I tell you…”
