Hafai's Possession Prose in Khalan | World Anvil

Hafai's Possession

She was given a quill at the foot of the monastary's hill,

And told of her duty to be done by two Gods of iron and silver,

Tell them now of the virtues that should not be forgotten'

And they turned away, so Priestess Hafai was left the ponder a prompt

When she was free of her duties as a sister,

A blank sheet of paper haunted her,

Creamish demons whispered to not set her brush upon skin

But Byansa, lady of Ardour, commanded her not to give in!

Her hands began to to write without command,

A thousand strokes in a night by candlelight,

Then she was, left collapsed, to continue her duties.

She ate her soups and passed out her bread to the needy

But when she returned to her mat, sleepy,

Her hands wrote without command,

For 40 days and 40 nights without a break,

until the skin of parchment was covered in the finest inkings.
