11 - Babysitting Farouk
General Summary
The party brings Farouk and Marco back to Brasshaven. The city guards are not really surprised to see Marco tied upon the ox. They greet each other friendly.
The party delivers the cart, tradegoods and ox to the trade offices and get rewareded for their trouble. After that they bring Farouk to the Ironclad Syndicate, where John gets rewarded with coin and "a favour". The clerk at the Smokestone halls warns John that there is a rumour someone is looking for John, it seems to be an agent or investigator of some kind. He seems to be Bharatian.
The adventureres take a well deserverd break in The Hook, a cheap but decent inn, frequented by mainly the navy and garrison. It's a nice enough place, and Marco seems relaxed, so they take his binding off and also buy him a beer. The party talks a bit about upcoming plans. Some of them notice, and then share, that there seems to be a big festival the day after tomorrow. The Brasshaven Festival, commemorating the founding of Brasshaven 50 years ago. They all are interested to check it out. It's mainly just outside the city near the Lone Mill (27 on the map) and some more formal and fancy events are in the Spire Theatre (26 on the map). But the whole city will be celebrating, so who knows what you'll find. Godfrith negotiates with Marco to take up his place as manservant and bodyguard to Father Braun. Besides the repeated insistance that Marco should "take care" of Braun's private parts, Marco and Godfrith reach an understanding. Godfrith wants to taste some more adventure, but also doesnt want to leave Father Braun alone.
John goes to the toilet and walks into an old "friend". Chen Mei, a shady figure from John's past has approached him if he would like to join her in a heist.
When they return to their inn, John ask Pilar if they can make a sword from the big claw of the creature they've defeated on their way to Brasshaven. Pilar thinks this is possible, and not even that hard to accomplish.
When Pilar finally arrives at he Gilded Valkyrie, she sees Daniel sitting at a table with a teacher from the Institute (Adél Saber). He has made a discovery. He's very secretive, but ask Pilar and Daniel to explore a ruin near Brightsprings. Any books or documentation found there will be his, any other treasures will be for the adventurers.
After this, the party goes to sleep. They have a free day, before the Brasshaven Festival begins.
