The Path

The Path is the dominant religion of Doman. Worshipers of the Path are called Travelers and typically worship the pantheon as a whole rather than the four Lords individually.
The worship of the Path is diverse, the different regions of the continent have different sects and approaches to the worship of the four Lords, furthermore cultures within the same region commonly incorporate their traditional beliefs to the Path; is for this reason that no central authority has sole control over the canon of beliefs.

Tenets of Faith

  • The Lords created the world and their will shapes it to this day. No proof is needed, for the proof is in the world.
  • Each Lord must be honored at their proper place and time.
  • The Lords give strength and guidance to those who listen, and instinct and intuition are their voices. When one is heard more clearly, one should follow him.
  • The Lords are always vigilant.

Sects

  • Daar Coast: The people of the Daar Coast have a focus on Agnalass and Forir above the rest of the Lords, given their ties with fire and storms respectively, traditional temples tend to be dedicated to only one on the four lords and be tied to a megalithic structure.
  • Eastern Holts: The Visk Empire has a tight relationship the liturgical leadership, creating a centralized chain of command. Temples in the empire are hallowed buildings that contain shrines to each of the four Lords.
  • Lham Barrens: Traditionally the dwarves have followed the Path, mixing the tales of the Lords with that of the original founders, each family having one shrine in their home, bigger temples are likely to be owned and run by powerful clans. Meanwhile the people of the Golden Sea have a focus on Nathair seeing him as the central deity in their cosmology, adding as well draconic figures to their pantheon.
  • Loviet Wilds: Some Travelers of the Path have incorporated the traditional beliefs of nature spirits into their worship, believing they serve as intermediaries between the faithful and the Lords. No big temples tend to exist but a plethora of small shrines to Lords a regional deities alike.
  • Orsh Wetlands: Worshippers have added to the Path the belief of ancestor worship, as well as a vast array of local deities. Temples tend to be smaller and communal, not only serving as places of worship but as spaces for social and political discussion.
