The Atos

The Atos are almost accidentally hostile. Among themselves they are friendly and tightly knit, perhaps because of the limited interaction they can have with other sentient species. They tend to be very confident and secure in their own safety, knowing that they have a very powerful defense mechanism and other species don’t mess with them.

Biological Traits

The Atos release strong-smelling poisonous fumes unintentionally when they feel fear, sadness, or anger, causing most animals and sentient species to avoid provoking them. It causes plants around them to wilt, but most plants will recover from it unless an absurd amount of fumes have been interacted with.

The Atos can be found nearly anywhere in Kelunbar, and where they move in, others tend to get out of their way.

The Atos specifically only consume leaves of deciduous trees.

Civilization and Culture

History

The Atos and The Musca originated from the same tribe, called The Nitas. The Nitas ranged in color, shape, and personality more than other Mysum tribes, but instead of encouraging appreciation of differences, the two warred with each other so much over differing opinion that eventually they split into two: The Atos and the Musca. The Atos now have a strong hatred for the Musca, as well as a deep frustration that the Musca are immune to the Atos's poison.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

The Atos get along amongst themselves splendidly, due to their separation from the rest of the races of Kelunbar. They have a hatred toward the Musca, who are the only race immune to the Atos' poison, and other species avoid them or are hostile towards them because of this defense mechanism. They make other Mysums feel drowsy and weaken other creatures. Most species believe this poison is intentional, though it rarely is on the Atos' part.
