Yumi

The yumi is a bow, a very large bow. Some stand taller than the average person who wields it. These bows are sorted into two categories: Daikyu (long bow) and Hankyu (short bow).   Archery is a skill taken very seriously by the samurai. Most clans value skill in archery higher than skill with the blade. Many warriors practice the Way of the Bow, which requires strict moral and spirtual practice alongside the development of actual archery skill.
