Session 32 Report

General Summary

Mid afternoon 4th Jeha - The party has just been teleported to a grove of trees north of Rythey, a half day's travel away. Upon arriving, Vayrath informs Sebastian that he has some new info. As Sebastian, Seven, Rivaan and Mirik make their way into the keep, an unknown woman approaches Seven and informs him that she is from the Academy and wants to check up on him. He agrees, and she begins to question him about his memories and whether he has met any other artificial life forms since he awoke. Eventually she asks to inspect him, and during this plants an unknown device in a chamber in his back. Before she leaves, she tell him to let her know if she learns anything about Lab Tau or any of their father's other children, revealing that she is also a construct, before teleporting away using a device on her wrist. Afterwards, Seven rejoins Rivaan, Mirik and Sebastian to learn what Vayrath has to say. He gives them the name of the Wizard Ofyne, who is the leader of the Court Wizards under the Queen, in charge of finding the Codex Illusimata. Sebastian also asks him about the Codex, he tells them that the Codex is one of many Codices that serve to maintain the laws of the world in regards to magic, and if it were to fall into the wrong hands, Reality as they know it could fall apart. Vayrath also brings up the presence of the Naga, asking why they are imprisoned there. He informs the party that one is evil and one is good. After a long time figuring out what to do, whether they should be released, and how to even open their cages, they decide to release the Guardian Naga and keep the Spirit Naga imprisoned until such time as they can actually kill it. Afterwards, the party discussed with Vayrath how they might get more information from Oyne about the Codex and its whereabouts as well as the Crown's search for it. Vayrath gave them a Ruby from his body, telling them that if they can get it close enough to her for a few minutes, he should be able to read her mind and gain the knowledge they seek. They party determined to go to Nubis to achieve this. After all of this, Sebastian prepared to conduct the ritual the Dryad taught him to empower the tree he planted to receive Zopha. 5th Jeha - The party contacted Jedbir to get a ride to Grayfall's Retreat to have Burdula take a look at Seven and determine if his sister actually did anything to him. Upon arriving, Burdula looked him over and found a device that was planted. Unfortunately, due to her inexperience with Warforged and mechanical life, she was hesitant to try removing it, worried she may cause damage or kill Seven. The party promptly departed, worried that the device may be a bomb that might hurt their friends or a spying device that would reveal the location of Grayfall's Retreat to Designation 11. 6th Jeha - Wary that Seven's new part might be a spying device, Rivaan, Mirik, and Shiela slipped away to ask the Tome of Knowledge about the location of Lab Tau, receiving a map indication the location in the south east of Nifflhas. 7th Jeha - The party reached Nubis mid day and sought any information they could about Ofyne. They staked out a tavern called the Magenta Toad and found a pair of High Elf wizards, Corym and Niossae, that Sebastian sat and spoke with for a while. He learned that court wizards of their rank rarely, if ever, see of meet Ofyne, each only having been in the same room as her for their swearing in. Sebastian told them some of his experiences and accomplishments, which led to them inviting him to meet their boss to potentially join the Court Wizards. While Sebastian was attempting to sleuth information, Rivaan and Shay hit the market for supplies and to offload some of their loot if possible. Rivaan met with a gnome from the Midnight Forge and traded a suit of elementium plate mail and some shadow dragon scales for info about a fallen star northeast of Ithama, in the Jagged Teeth. Afterwards, the party settled in to rooms at The Supreme Skies Inn for the night, proposing to depart to the learned location of Lab Tau as soon as they have a chance to deliver the Ruby to Ofyne.
