Rozandax
Emperor Rozandax the Terrible
Emperor Rozandax is infamous as the worst ruler the Lanarian Empire has had in its long history.
He was a cruel tyrant who punished his enemies severely, often with public executions. As time went on, his definition of "enemy" grew wider and wider, until everyone around him lived in fear that one wrong word would cost them their heads. The last straw was when Rozandax beheaded his own mother. The Council evoked the powers of the Book of High Law and removed him from the throne, thus ending the eighth dynasty.
Rozandax was to be imprisoned for life, but on the way to the prison enraged citizens overwhelmed the carriage and killed him. Thus ended the Eighth Dynasty of the Lanarian Empire.

Mental Trauma
Multiple scholarly papers have been written speculating on what kind of mental illness(es) may have sparked Rozandax's violent, paranoid actions. It's impossible to diagnose a historical figure centuries after the fact, but something was clearly not right in his head.
Reign
Rozandax was crowned emperor in 3158 after the death of his father. Historians have speculated on whether or not the previous emperor died of natural causes or was secretly assassinated by his son, but there is no evidence either way.
