Sylvalur Aealyant

Sylvalur Aealyant (he/him) is a character played by Tristan (he/him) in the A Trip to Shade City one-shot. He is a wood elf (reborn) Swarmkeeper Ranger, and a haunted one.

Description

Has long straight unkept grey hair, white skin, and white eyes. He looks like a normal elf except for the two large gashes on the right side of his face, one on the corner of his mouth exposing the inside of his mouth, and the other on the base of his cheek bone up to his temple exposing bone. Has various moss growing in different spots around the right side of his face: around his wounds, on his neck, next to his lip and eye. Wears a grey cloak where the cape part is covered in moss. Wears torn up leather armor, has a hole on the right of his stomach where he was stabbed, various bugs are crawling out of it at any given time. Has brown torn up traveling pants and black torn up travel boots. Has exposed bone on his middle three fingers on his right hand and his pinky and thumb are covered in flesh. Straps his bow and arrows over back.   Unbothered/uninterested with anything that doesn’t have to do or help him get his revenge. Keeps to himself most times unless he sees someone needlessly harming nature or animals. Afraid of heights.

Backstory

Sylvalur Aealyan was abandoned in the Redwillow Forest as a baby till the elder of the local wood elf village took him in and raised him in as his own even giving him his own last name. He was raised amongst the wood elves and though he was shunned at first he quickly became part of the village, even becoming best friends with the head rangers son Tyweonwyn Aerlanawyn. His father trained him to become part of the villages rangers himself, defending the village against the Monstrosities that roam their forest, much to the dismay of the head ranger.   As Sylvalur and Tyweonwyn grew up they became exceptional rangers and soon it became time to announce a new head ranger. Much to everyone’s shock, the elder announced that the new head ranger would be Sylvalur; Tyweonwyn’s father was furious saying that this was Tyweonwyn’s birthright as their family had been the head ranger for generations. He started accusing the elder that he only picked Sylvalur because he was his son and that he is not a real wood elf. The elder said that Tyweonwyn was rash and cocky and would not make a good leader. Sylvalur was as shocked as anyone that he would be the new ranger he assumed that it would be Tyweonwyn like everyone else.   Tyweonwyn congratulated him on becoming the new ranger and asked him if he wanted to go hunting as celebration, Sylvalur happily accepted. About an hour into the hunt they had reach the top of mountain and Sylvalur looked out over it enjoying the view, saying how glad he was that tyweonwyn wasn’t mad he was the new head ranger. As Sylvalur finished his sentence he felt a sharp stab to the right of his stomach and looked down to see that Tyweonwyn’s sword had impaled him. All Slyvalur had enough strength to do was ask why, and Tyweonwyn’s reply was simply he had to do it for his family, then he kicked him off his sword down the mountain to his death.   Sylvalur didn’t know how long he had fallen but it wasn’t a free fall it was extremely rocky and when he hit the ground he was beyond saving. Unbeknownst to Sylvalur, his death sent his community of wood elves into a civil war amongst themselves which wiped most of them out. When Sylvalur woke up, he went into shock; his body broken and rotting, parts of him missing in places, other parts exposed to the bone. He was covered in moss too and he had no idea how long he had been dead. The only thing he remembered from his past left was his name and Tyweonwyn and his betrayal and how him must return the favor.
