Ruthana Bellegarde (she/her) is a character played by Ty (they/he) is The Daughters of House Bellegarde sidequest campaign. She is a dhampir monk with the athlete background.
Description
Pale, short, lean, with long, thin, dark hair commonly pulled up in a high pony. Ruthy dresses near universally for comfort, favoring plush cottons that do not hinder her range of motion over any formalware more fitting of her station. She is, nearly without exception, visibly dirty from running around the forest and falling out of trees.
Ruthy is emerging from years of sickly quietude through her discovery of a love of competition and sport. She is energetic and impatient, often becoming visibly restless watching someone take a moment to do something that she herself would rather do. She is playful and boisterous in the company of her siblings or anyone who has earned her trust, and will under absolutely no circumstances turn down a challenge. She has an extremely dry wit that, when coupled with her unshakeable stubbornness, can very easily come off as a strange stupidity.
Backstory
Ruthana Bellegarde was a sickly child. For dhampir, this presented an unusual suite of challenges, and her quiet, subdued demeanor cultivated through formative years spent with hardly enough energy to toss her favorite ball around her room left her somewhat distant from her other siblings.
Her days of sickly malaise seem over, though, and in recent years Ruthana has displayed a love for life, made manifest most clearly by a love of competition and the outdoors. Her sisters, busy with their own lives and arcane pursuits, rarely made time for catch. Ruthana despaired in the early, lonely months of her recovery, but as she spent more time among the forested grounds of her estate she made a game-changing realization: she was quick enough to catch her own throws.
This new discovery proved a skeleton key unlocking new meaning in Ruthana's life. As she played, she grew quicker. As she grew quicker, and began playing alongside her sister Leliana, they complicated their new game: bounding off of trunks and over limbs, carrying a trusty club along with her to send the ball thundering farther and faster to up the challenge, and marking certain trees as requisite "bases" to tag along the way to the soaring ball. Ruthana found meaning in sport and competition, and purpose in continuing to hone her abilities. She only lacks teammates now: friends, mentors, and rivals that might propel her farther down this path and place glorious victory closer to her grasp.
