Spellhold

Spellhold is a prison tower off the coast of Xandria that is used specifically to house those criminals that are powerful mages. It is set-up with special measures to ensure that their magical abilities are restricted so they cannot break free to once again terrorise the world.
The building has a magical enchantment on it that allows it to float around 800m in the air. The main metod of access is by teleportation circle. However, it is possible to reach the tower by means of an airship if one has the means to facilitate such travel.
The spire is also large on the inside than the outside. The tower interior has 20 levels each with 25 cells. The top and bottom levels are reserved for administration and to provide living facilities for the person responsible for seeing over the tower. This allows for a total of 450 prison cells. The cells closest to the top of the spire are considered to be reserved for criminals whos crimes are more serious.
Spellhold has become the home of many villainous mages over the years. Some are humanoid but not all. There is known to be two beholders currently imprisoned there, several liches and demon worshipers who have been given lifelong sentences. One prisoner of note is Edvard Walf, the necromancer of Manifer who was responsible for the undead blight upon the town of Manifer during the previous age of fire. The effects of his crime can still be seen today and he is housed in cell twenty three on the north side of level eighteen.

Curator

The current curator is Viconious, he has presided over spell hold after being inducted into the Xandrian Council after the alliance was victorious during the The Mage Wars.
His whereabouts is currently unknown...
