Taymyr
Taymyr is a new country, established after the fall of Volandova, from the state that was named Taymyr. When the king of Volandova and his dukes died the country was left without solid leadership. There had not been enough years since the founding of the state to create a stable hierarchy of nobility.
The lands that are now Taymyr bore the brunt of the Mordentum invasion. In the beginning the local clans were decimated by the troops deployed to the first outpost created. The training of the Mordentum army proved overwhelming to the individual warrior mindset of the clans populating the Frontier. Empire troops pressed out in all directions, eventually threatening Radusa before King Durran was able to rally the clans of the Frontier. It was at Radusa that the two countries had their first encounter. Luckily, for the defenders, the city of Radusa was walled and well provisioned. The initial assault by the empire tested the defenders and almost overcame them. In the early hours of the morning ships from Astarga and Kravari broke through the imperial ships and brought much needed troops and supplies to the city, enabling it to withstand the siege efforts until the king began his raider groups north of Mordentum.
When Mordentum destroyed the Volandova leadership the state of Taymyr was in a shambles. The siege of Radusa reduced the city to broken and burnt buildings, home to one tenth the previous population. With the reduction of imperial forces the king moved his army into the field rather than housing them in the city. When the imperial outpost was finally overrun the majority of the army dispersed back to its home countries. The king organized the transport ships into a rudimentary navy and set them to patrolling the seas and preventing any more imperial ships from crossing.
When the king and his dukes were slain the only military leadership still present in Radusa was the admiral of the navy. He declined to take control of the state, suggesting that they seek out assistance from Astarga to the east. Taking advantage of the chaos a group of merchants, mostly farmers, gathered together and elected one of their own, Serban Cosma, as king, and then bribed the admiral to join them, retaining the ships they had and setting themselves as a naval power in the area.
King Cosma, with his rural background, has been a popular king. Focused on the people, trade, and defense, he has been a powerful force in building the country. He reached out to Mitanni and Akkadia in order to create secure borders. He had positive results with Akkadia but was rebuffed by Mitanni, and surprised by the violent response from his northern neighbor. Without any design or coordination raiders from Mitanni were raiding into Taymyr, destroying villages and keeps, pillaging them of all valuables and retreating back north.
