The Show

No one is exactly sure where the phenomenon known as the Show began. Death fights and gladiator games had grown in one form or the other in several kingdoms dating back thousands of years. Yet what became the Show could not be seen as a natural evolution or development of gladiatorial sport. The masses always have their champion, but in duels, death clubs, or gladiator games they too often lost their cherished hero without a satisfying end.   Eventually, the modern-day form of the Show grew, and its warriors trained both in martial prowess and in the spectacle of appealing to the masses. While some gladiators knew how to motivate a crowd, these new members of the Show are masters of enhancing the viewing experience. They often came from every walk of life and added new storylines to the Show.   Today the warriors of the Show are some of the most well-known beings in all Karvahal. Their fame crosses oceans and mountain ranges. It connects all manner of beings, enemies and friends alike.   There are three aspects to the Show:   The Dueling circuit-both armed and unarmed   The Mortal Combat circuit-Fights to the death, no rules   The Survivor Games- Competitors must complete deadly obstacle courses.   Competitors can engage in all the tiers. Champions of a particular circuit earn the Crown of Mastery. No being has ever won the Triple Crowns.   Known Ritual Warriors of the show seek out fame and the adulation of the crowds. They practice a ritual of engaging with the crowd before a match. During intermissions between matches, a member of the show is able to harness the elixirs, healing arts of dozens of races and nations, and the raw energy of the crowd to cleanse their wounds. During such events and times they are restored to full health provided they are not dead. Loss of limbs, eyes etc remain lost, but health is otherwise restored.   Key Sense A warrior member of the show is taught to sense the moods of the crowds. They can enhance the engagement of the crowd. This applies to in-match, during the lead-up rituals, and in certain other public speaking events.   Lore: Showmanship Proficient in the Lore skill Showmanship.
