Rift Runners
As time churned on Karvahal its people began to better understand the rifts that frame the world's spirit. Karvahal and its inhabitants came to understand the dangers of rifts, but a certain few sought wealth and adventure within the rifts. Hence came the Rift Runners. While not a true organization or faction in the truest sense. Rift Runners is a loose brotherhood of adventurers and merchants who plunge head first into the outgoing Rifts in the southern hemisphere.
Once off-world these Rift Runners must contend with the dangers of new worlds. Those worlds often claim the lives of these intrepid runners. Using some of the same tools that their counterpart the Rift Wardens use, these Rift Runners find other portals to the new worlds and hope they lead back home. Along the way they accumulate wealth or great knowledge, which they bring back to Karvahal and hence build up their fame.
Known Ritual Rift Runners seek out scholars and mages who delve into the Lore and Science of Rifts. They learn the Portal ritual using the Isoa crystal. A runner begins a ten-minute ritual which begins to coalesce the universal engeries to form a spontaneous or unstable rift.
Key Sense A Rift Warden is taught to use his Isoa Crystal to detect the locations of Rifts. The crystal will be like a compass pointing to a Rift. The Crystal will point flawlessly to any Rift within two miles. Over that the crystal will point generally, oftentimes to the largest rift in the region. Typically stable rifts like the Great Rift at Stonebreaker Mountain will draw a crystal's long-range direction over minor rifts at a distance.
Lore: Rifts Proficient in the Lore skill Rifts. Always performed at player level + proficiency level.
